Sheikhupura, in the northwest of Lahore, is the 16th largest city in the Punjab province. It is the capital of Sheikhupura district previously known as “Qila Sheikhupura”. It is said to have been founded by the great Mughal Empire Jahangir in 1607. Since then the city has been a sight of particular attention and is now an industrial hub and satellite town.
