Nowshera is a beautiful city in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is the 7th largest city in the province according to population and 78th largest in Pakistan. The city has been populated on the Kabul River almost 27 miles from the provincial capital Peshawar. The name comes from the local languages “Nowkhar” which means new city and later it was translated into Persian and Urdu as Nowshera which means the same. This is a beautiful city where you can see a beautiful blend of history with modernity. You would see the bygone day’s marvels along with the modern scientific amenities.
From a historical perspective, this city has been said to have been developed by the Afghan Durani Empire and is known to be a battlefield for the local forces and the forces of Ranjeet Singh. You would see from the remaining historicity and from the folklores and anecdotes that are being told here. Being a hub to the Pashtunwali culture of the Pathan tribe these people have been known for their bravery in the face of foreign aggression. In the British rule, Nowshera was a town and cantonment as well as the tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The town was of the Grand Trunk Road and North-West railway. It is said the development of an area highly depends on its infrastructure and as per this view, Nowshera being on the grand routs from the very onset has been a relatively a modern city with some good facilities.

Talk about healthcare facilities, Nowshera has hospitals like DHQ hospital Nowshera, Qazi Hussain Ahmed Medical Complex, Nowshera Combined Military Hospital along with some other quality private clinics. Once in this city, you need not travel to other cities for healthcare as the aforementioned hospitals are the best in the country. Given these facilities, this is perhaps the city the arrests one's attention to a very fair extend.
Apart from the aforementioned facilities and amenities, one thing that needs to be emphasized upon talked in length is “CPEC City Nowshera”.
