Islamabad: An official of the Ministry of Housing and Works while talking to APP here on Saturday said that the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) would complete the already delayed project of Lifestyle Residency Islamabad if the funds are provided in time to the authority. The Lifestyle Apartments Project was launched in 2016 but the project actually started the work on the ground in September 2017 which caused the overall disturbance in the original financial plan and the recovery from the members. Span over an area of 15.37 acres the project, jointly launched by FGEHA and EHFPRO, was to be completed in 2020 but owing to multiple reasons the work on the project lingered on.
As per detail of the multi-story project run under the public/private partnership, there were 3240 apartments to be built out of which 2739 were reserved for federal government employees and the remaining 861 for the general public. The 16 story apartments are located in G-13/1 and G-13/4. The idea behind the construction of the 16-floor and seventeen-floor apartments was to provide the masses with an affordable housing facility in the capital besides reducing the pressure of the growing population on the capital city. There is also a plan of the builders to construct a full-fledged “ Lifestyle Mall” so that the masses may be able to purchase the necessities of life at their doorstep. The lifestyle Residential apartments are planned at an ideal location that has very close proximity from the nearby routes and destinations.
The Premier himself is involved in the realization of the dream of providing 50 lac houses to the homeless people Under the "Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme" and "Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar Housing Scheme" Projects in the country. The incumbent government in this regard has set up a full-fledged authority namely Naya Pakistan Housing and Construction Authority to speed up the process of construction activities in the country. The promotion of housing and construction would also gear up the cycle of the economy. The government has also directed the banks to provide subsidized loans to the poor so that they may be able to construct their home. More than a hundred billion rupees have already been disbursed by the banks to the low-income segment of society. The completion of the work on Lifestyle apartments would prove to be a realization of the dreams of the government under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
