Islamabad: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development in a meeting took notice of the worries and Major Issues of OPF Valley Zone-V Allottees Islamabad directed the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development to immediately resolve their issues regarding possession of plots, provision of utility services and security. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of MNA, Fiaz ud Din in the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment. The starred question was moved by the MNA Umer Riaz.
The meeting of the standing committee was attended by the Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Senator Muhammad Ayub Afridi, Zulfiqar Ali Khan, MNAs Syed Javed Hussain, Zahra Wadood, Syed Abrar Ali Shah, Dr. Mahreen Razzaq Bhutto, Muhammad Jamal Ud Din. The senior officers from M/O Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development, Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment, Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, Overseas Employment Corporation, an official of CDA, and FIA also attended the meeting. During the briefing, the MD OPF informed that on Nov 2, 2020, the Ministry has already handed over the possession letters of all blocks to the allottees even some of the allottees have submitted the plans/maps of their houses in Capital Development Authority (CDA) and some of them have also got the approval of their maps.

The MD however said that the work on utility services is in progress and 24 kanals of land has been purchased for installation of tube wells and transmission lines also being finalized via Japan Road. He also added that for the provision of water for construction of houses the practice of water boozers like DHA and Behria Town. He also informed that IESCO has completed 85% of underground electrification work and a Grid Station on 32 Kanals will be constructed in the society. The MD further highlighted that they are in contact with IESCO for the construction of the Grid Station and street lights on the main roads have been installed and 25 security guards have also been hired for security purposes. The committee forcefully directed the ministry of OPF to urgently resolve the worries and woes of the allottees of the society.
