KP Tourism Display Dubai Expo Concludes $8bn Investment MOUs

Peshawer: The month-long Exhibition Of The KPK Tourism And Investment Potential in Pakitan Pavillion at the Dubai Expo has ended with ample fanfare. According to a press communique received on Friday, the Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser was the chief guest while the Pakistan ambassador to UAE was the guest of honor at the closing ceremony. The speaker has presented the details of the activities performed by different departments of the province throughout the month. It was informed that 44 MOUs worth USD 8 billion were signed in various sectors. The investors showed keen interest in investment in tourism, culture, business, and especially the Integrated Tourism Zones (ITZs) initiated by the government. The potential of investment in the energy sector as per vision 2030 of the KP government was also highlighted in the Expo. The event was also attended by the representatives of the Pakistan Business Council, members of the Pakhtun Business Community, and people from different walks of life.

As per details, in the expo, the investors were briefed about the opportunities for Investment and showed keen interest in the investment opportunities, especially in the tourism sector. The Investors were told that the government is committed to providing incentives through one window facility as well as the provision of land to the investors will also be ensured by the government. The participants were also briefed on the opportunities in the energy sector as per the government’s vision of 2030. Talking about the energy sector the Secretory Energy Syed Imtiaz had said, “Government of Khyber Pakh­tunkhwa is following ambitious agenda of developing its energy sector through investment from public, private and public-private partnership in clean and renewable resources of hydropower, solar and wind.”

DG KP Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) Kamran Afridi briefed the participant about the MOUs signed with investors and the cultural and tourism activities performed in Pakistan Pavillion at Dubai Expo. He especially highlighted the overwhelming response of the investors and business community regarding the Integrated tourism Zones (ITZs). The CEO KP Board of Investment briefed the participants about the investment promotion activities carried out at the expo. He informed the participants about his planned presentations starting from the cottage industry and leading up to the agriculture sector. He also informed about 44 MOUs worth $8 billion in various sectors. The additional Chief Secretory of the KP Shahab Shah appreciated the untiring efforts of the KP team in making t the Dubai Expo a real success for the province as underlined in the vision of the top leadership. The chief guest also appreciated the KP government for presenting the Pakistan tourism, culture, and business potential in the best possible manner at the Expo and stressed the need for realization of the commitments and MOUs signed at the Dubai expo.
