64 Modern Buses Added to Lahore Metro Bus Service

LAHORE: The Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has inaugurated the addition of 64 most modern, environment-friendly, buses to Lahore Metro Bus Services, The newly inaugurated fleet of buses is Euro-iii quality diesel buses having a capacity of carrying 160 passengers will be providing best services to women, children and disabled persons. The buses are environment-friendly which would be continuously playing from 6:15 am to 10:00 pm providing transport facility to almost 125,000 passengers daily. The inclusion of new buses is expected to minimize the woos of the commuters of the metropolitan city to a great extent

The Chief Minister speaking on the occasion reaffirmed his government’s resolve to provide the best possible infrastructure of transportation and communication to the public. He also added that the work on bridges and underpasses is also in full swing that will reduce the worries of the commuters of the provincial capital. The CM also told the gathering that the new deal of buses has been signed with a local company that saved the government billions of rupees apart from saving vital foreign exchange a huge benefit to the local manufacturing.

The Chief Minister said that the government is working on the agenda of facilitating the masses. He said that soon the government is also starting the electric buses service in Lahore to minimize environmental pollution. He said that the government also has a plan to launch environmentally friendly buses to major cities of the province. He also revealed a major bus terminal would also be constructed at Thokar Niaz Baig at a cost of Rs 3 bn. He also directed the officials concerned to speed up the process of completion of the ongoing projects. He also informed that the present government is working round the clock on its agenda of serving the masses with zeal and zest. The CM officially handed over the buses to the Punjab Mass Transit Authority.
