Islamabad: Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) has launched an awareness campaign in the federal capital’s Margalla Hills to protect the natural beauty and Wildlife in Margalla Hills especially in connection to the Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP). This campaign is started in views of Pakistan National Climate Change and Wildlife Policy 2021. The people belonging to all spheres of society have been invited and they took a keen interest in the awareness campaign launched by the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB). The Celebrities from sports, politics, and showbiz were also invited to the awareness session who appreciated the activity undertaken by the IWMB.
The officials of the Islamabad Wildlife Board have long been trying to take a step aware the masses about the importance of the natural environment and the existence of wildlife that relates to the protection of greenery and natural beauty of the federal metropolis. The chairperson of the IWMB told the participant that special attention is being paid to protect the Wildlife of Pakistan like leopards which have also learned to coexist with humans in the surroundings of Margalla Hills. “The leopards of the national park have learned to coexist with humans because there are no potential threats in Margalla to leopards. There are also no further encroachments in their habitats due to which no leopard attacks on humans have been reported in the recent past.” She told.
Personalities from Showbiz really appreciated the move of the civic agency to care for the nature and protection of wildlife. Imran Abbas, a famous showbiz celebrity in his message said, “It is great to see such kinds of events that are greatly helpful in making people aware about the importance of the natural environment.” “I support this cause and ask people to show their love for the natural environment and wildlife with their actions. It is our collective responsibility to play our role for the protection and preservation of this national park,” he added.
The chairperson of the IWMB also added that the natural beauty and wildlife need special attention and respect on the part of the public as it is the only way we can preserve and maintain the ecological balance. The Prime Minister of Pakistan ever since coming to power has strived hard to protect the natural environment and scenic beauties of the country along with the protection and preservation of living species. One billion tree tsunami is also an effort in the same direction to materialize the dreams of a neat and clean and echo-friendly Pakistan.
