In a press release issued here on Sunday, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has said that the city administration has decided to acquire Drone Technology To Monitor Forest Land And Wildlife. In this regard, the civic agency has tendered to procure a drone camera with the most modern equipment worth 6.8 million for the Model Forestry Park Malpur under the supervision of Rana Tahir Mahmood, Director Environment Protection Cell who has been striving since long to utilize this technology for the purpose of supervision and monitoring of wildlife and encroachment in the forest region of the capital city.
It is informed that the drone technology will not only help in monitoring the wildlife and encroachments but also assist in finding out types of wildlife in the Capital city keeping in view the migratory wildlife. The press release said,” The use of drones will enable in detecting encroachment in the forest area that will help in taking timely action against the encroachers. In the same way, the camera will also help in categorizing the types of wildlife found in the forests of Islamabad. According to the migratory wildlife,” Previously Drones Working On Lahore-Multan Motorway for supervision proved themselves a good decision, in this regard, CDA is taking this step.
The camera will initially be used in The Model forestry Park Islamabad as a pilot project. Span over an area of 350 acres the park also has 50,000 newly planted trees and some fifty thousand more trees have to be planted in the park. It has also been stated by the CDA officials that the project of installing 100 CCTV cameras for the security of plants and visitors is also in the pipeline. The civic agency under the visionary leadership of the incumbent administration has been striving hard to provide the residents of the capital city with the maximum possible facilities. The administration has worked for the improvement of parks and public places along with protecting and preserving nature, climate, and the inhabitant of the living species as envisaged by the Prime Minister.
