Low Fare Shuttle Bus Service from Rawalpindi to Islamabad International Airport

In order to provide some sort of relief to the travelers of the twin cities to the Islamabad International Airport, The Rawalpindi District Administration (RDA) has approved a cheap and affordable round-the-clock Shuttle Bus Service to operate between Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and Islamabad International Airport. The round the clock service when operational will provide and the airport staff a great relief to the public traveling to the airport. At present, the employees of the airport services, as well as the passengers, have to pay thousands of rupees to reach their destination.

It is reported that the shuttle service will be operating on three Public Transport Routes in Rawalpindi/Islamabad simultaneously, two routes from Rawalpindi and one from Islamabad. Two private transport companies have shown their interest in the project and have offered their services in this regard. The first route will operate from Rawat, 2nd from Gulzar-e Quaid, and the third route from Pak secretariat to Islamabad Airport. The aviation minister further added that although no decision regarding fair has been made as yet the transportation would be cheap and the buses would charge a nominal amount from the public who are traveling to and from the IIA.

Ever since the airport shifted away from Islamabad the traveling issues to the New Islamabad Airport became very serious especially for daily commuters and frequent visitors who in absence of any local service to IIA had to pay between 3000 to 4000 on regular basis, The introduction of the shuttle service would mitigate the worries of the travelers to a great extent. A similar program of shuttle service from the three most crowded points of Islamabad was initiated by the then Nawaz Sharif Government but the work on the project could not be started owing to political issues. The current government ever since coming into power has taken several steps. Some of the Recent Projects, Kharian Rawalpindi Motorway Project, District Development Plan KPK, Karachi Transport Issue Solution, Manora WaterFornt Beach Renovation, and many others to provide basic facilities to the citizens for Development, transportation, communication, and entertainment.
