PESHAWAR: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is taking serious steps for the development and advancement of the province. Like the previous development project of Tourism Zones Establishment In KPK, they have initiated 10 more mega projects worth 65 billion in the different districts of the province. The projects mainly deal with the construction of roads, water supply, and solar energy, and irrigation. The megaprojects also include 107 linked projects. The official statement of the Planning and Development Division Department states that these projects include the construction of 65 roads, 41 water supplies, and one solar energy transfer project. Hazara Division with maximum allocation amounting to Rs 9.90 bn will benefit from these projects the most followed by Peshawar with Rs 9.20 billion for District Development Plan.
The official document of the planning and development department the development projects in Hazara include construction of 5 roads and two irrigation projects in Lower Dir, 3 roads and two irrigation projects in Upper Dir, Two Roads and one irrigation scheme in Malakand. Rs9.20 billion will be spent as per Peshawar district development with 15 sub-projects for clean water supply and road construction and 8 irrigation schemes have been identified in the provincial Metropolis. According to the DDP, Rs 9.58 bn will be spent in Mardan Division on different schemes pertaining to the supply of clean water. Under the District Development Plan, Nowshera and Charsadda will receive an amount of Rs6.50 billion for different roads and water supply schemes. The official document also revealed that an amount of Rs 6.37 bn would be spent on Swat and Shangla for similar schemes.
In district Kohat, Rs4 billion would be spent on the construction of three roads and one project of road construction and one project of water supply would be started in Hangu and a road construction project in district Karak is also included in DDP. In Bannu Rs, 4.60 billion will be spent on two irrigation and one solar energy project. Three irrigation projects in Lakki Marwat have also been identified. In Dera Ismail Khan Division, Rs4.70 billion will be spent under the District Development Plan. In Hazara Division three roads and three irrigation in Abbottabad, Three roads in Haripur and two in Battgram, three roads, and an irrigation scheme in Mansehra are among the notable projects.
The Planning and Development Division also allocated an amount of Rs 5 billion for merged districts under the District Development Plan KPK. The deputy commissioners of the districts have been directed to identify projects for their respective districts.
