Islamabad: A meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) Chaired by the Federal Minister for Planning and development Asad Umer has given a go-ahead to the 12.139 billion construction of the 10th Avenue project in Islamabad. Previous mega development projects of Capital City like Islamabad Industrial Estate Establishment, and Sector E-11 Development, This project also comprises road work, construction of an overhead bridge at Margalla Railway station, underpass at H-9/H-10, Interchange at Kashmir Highway. The project will straightaway benefit the residents of H-9, H-10, G-9, G-10, I-9, and I-10 sectors who will have direct access to Srinagar Highway and IJP Road once the project completes. The project would also ease out the congestion of traffic at 9th Avenue and Faqer Aapi road.
Earlier in a review meeting last month regarding the progress of the project the Minister was informed that the Tender of the project would be issued in the ongoing month and that the 10th Avenue Phase-1 further contains two packages, First from IJP Road to Srinagar Highway and second package from Srinagar Highway to G-9 and G-10. The Minister had directed the authorities concerned to start work on both packages at the same time so that the project could be finalized within 20 months as the project includes some major construction work like Overhead Bridge at Margalla Railway Station and underpass at Kashmir Highway at I-9/ I-10 Interchange.
The current administration of CDA under the dynamic leadership of its Chairman Mr. Aamir Ali Ahmed has taken several measures to mitigate the worries of the residents of the capital city. A comprehensive plan with to build out infrastructure and cater to the most neglected areas like development of I-12 sector, Renovation of public places like parks and libraries, construction of new libraries and renovation of existing ones, Carpeting of worn-out roads, nonstop supply of water to the residents and an overall improvement of infrastructure clearly defines the direction of the CDA administration in accordance with the vision of the Prime Minister Imran Khan.
