A delegation of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by its president Shakeel Munir met the chairman of Capital Development Authority (CDA), Amir Ali Ahmed, in his office, to discuss the issues of the business community and the economic importance of setting up a new industrial estate in Islamabad. The CDA Chairman agreed to the proposal and said that the demand of the ICCI was legitimate and that the civic agency would do its utmost to realize the dream of the establishment of a new industrial estate in Islamabad. He further directed the delegation to come up with a comprehensive plan for the industrial estate so that the same should be forwarded to the concerned departments for consultation. This project is in a sequence of the developmental projects of Rawalpindi Ring Road Industrial Zone Establishment.
It was agreed in the meeting that ICCI would have another meeting with the chairman soon along with a compact plan for setting up the industrial estate. The Chairman CDA, Mr. Aamir agreed that the Kahuta industrial was neglected over the past few years and assured the delegation that the work on that estate would also be carried out as soon as the completion of the carpeting of the road completes. While discussing the determination of the civic agency about the development of the city he assured the delegation about the inauguration of the Islamabad dry port and proposed construction of parking plazas in the capital city.
President ICCI informed the Chairman CDA about the issues faced by the business community in the federal capital. The chairman assured them of his complete support regarding the solution of the issue. The representatives of the ICCI also assure the CDA of their full cooperation. Senior Vice President Jamshed Akhtar Sheikh, Vice President Muhammad Faheem Khan, Convener of ICCI CDA Committee Abdul Rauf Alam, Nasir Qureshi, Shaban Khalid, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, Tahir Abbasi, Omais Khattak, and Khalid Chaudhry were in the delegation. Tariq Sadiq, Khalid Iqbal Malik, Sheikh Amir Waheed, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, CDA Member Finance Rana Shakeel Asghar, and a few other members were present in the meeting of ICCI meeting with the chairman.
