Mega Projects For Ring Road Industrial Zone, Approved By RDA

Rawalpindi: A delegation of Rawalpindi Chambers Of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Lead by President RCCI Nadeem Rauf met the Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Tariq Mahmood Murtaza and discussed in detail the possibilities and benefits of Industrial And Economic Zones Along The Rawalpindi Ring Road and demanded the Rwp administration to Chalk out a comprehensive plan for their establishment. The president of the RCCI was accompanied by the RCCI Senior Vice President Asim Malik, Vice President Talat Awan, and a former president. Last year too, the representatives of the RCCI and ICCI met the Rawalpindi administration for the same reason.

The chairman RDA while giving a detailed briefing to the RCCI members about the ongoing projects in the city assured them that the administration is already incorporating their suggestion of establishing industrial and economic zones along with the Revised Rawalpindi Ring Road Project for the development and progress of the city. The chairman RDA said that the industrial zones in the city would boost up economic activity and create job opportunities. He also highlighted that the issue of encroachment can be permanently done away with by adopting long-term policies of industrial and economic development.

The RCCI president praised the initiatives taken by the RWP administration for the development and prosperity of the city. He particularly termed the Ring Road Project to be a game-changer as the proposed relocation of goods transportation, bus Stands and warehouses outside the city help a great deal to minimize a load of heavy traffic in the city. The president of the RCCI said that the city has become highly congested over the past few years and the relocation of small industries and markets is the order of the day. He also highlighted the ever-increasing issue of parking in the city and suggested that new parking plazas should be constructed at College Road and Iqbal Road. The president RCCI also suggested the establishment of a core committee consisting of RDA and RCCI to review the progress of the ongoing projects and assured his full cooperation with RDA.
