Hunza is one of the most beautiful districts of Gilgit Baltistan Pakistan. The panoramic views and wonderful eye- catching sceneries attract many tourists from Pakistan as well as from all over the world every year. The naturally beautiful valley, Hunza, is just 100 kms away from Gilgit City. The mighty mountains, tremendous lakes, snow white glaciers enhance the beauty of this valley. A blogger Christian Li says that Hunza valley of Pakistan is the most beautiful as well as the most peaceful place, not only in Pakistan but in the whole world. He further says that "Ninety - nine percent of Pakistan is just as safe as Europe, and Hunza Valley is even more peaceful than central Europe these days".
It is hundred percent guarantee that you will not get tired of living here for weeks and even for months because the hospitable people and the splendid sceneries accept you not as their guest but as part of their culture and family. On the way to khunjerab China Pak boarder, Hunza is one of the main stop on the legendary Karakoram Highway. The valley is divided into three subdivisions on the basis of geography. (a)Upper Hunza (b)central Hunza (c) Lower Hunza.

The most ancient Altit Fort is located in the beautiful valley Hunza of Gilgit Baltistan (Northern Areas). The mighty castle Altit gives magnificent look above Karim Abad valley of Hunza. It is best Hunza valley attraction, historical and luxurious Altit fort had been the home to many rulers of Mir Dynasty.
After demolishing the Princely State System, the government of Islamic Republic of Pakistan changes this fort into historical museum. It is not only fort but also a masterpiece of 1100 years old architecture.
Aga Khan Culture Trust renovates this tremendous fort and preserved it as a heritage for future generations. Besides being fort, museum and ancient heritage, it is also an open book which depicts the artistic skills and technology of ancient people.
On the top of beautiful Karimabad valley, you can see a mighty Baltit fort which has been erected there for 700 years. It was built in 8th century and now included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Tentative list. Baltit Fort was like todays Prime Minister House or President House for the rulers of that time. Before moving to Baltit Fort the royal family of Mir’s used to like in Altit fort. Moreover, all the affairs of administration had been controlled form Baltit fort according to the history. History further says that it was destroyed by the Maharaja of Kashmir and other rulers at different wars but later on it was renovated by Agha Khan development foundation. Including many other forts, it was changed into museum by the government of Pakistan after canceling the legacy of Princely state system.

Khunjerab Pass is the most frequently visiting place not only in Hunza or Gilgit Baltistan but also in Pakistan. Because of extreme cold weather the Pass remain close from November to April. Sost village is also situated in surrounding of Khunjerab Pass. It is the place across the boarder where cargo transport if Pakistan and China take place. The word "Rakaposhi” means "Light Wall"
The mighty mountain Rakaposhi can be seen from anywhere when you are staying in Hunza. It is the part if Karakoram Mountain range. Many glaciers such as Biro, Barpu, Pisan and Bagrot have surrounded the beautiful peak of Rakaposhi. The best time to visit hunza valley is at evening.
