Rawalpindi: The DG RDA Saif Anwar Jappa made the no objection certificate mandatory for the housing schemes before advertising anything related to private housing schemes. In a letter issued to different departments like the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi, cantonment boards, and Rawalpindi District Council, the DG told that the approval of the RDA must be checked before allowing any type of publicity to the private housing schemes.

The DG RDA said that the mushrooming growth of the private housing schemes is a matter of concern for the RDA. This growth, he said, causes sub-division of land throughout the Rawalpindi district. RDA can accord permission to private housing societies in light of the directions of the Punjab Housing Department under the Punjab Development Authority Land-Use (Classification, Reclassification, and Redevelopment Rules, 2021).
