Rawalpindi: The DG RDA Saif Anwar Jappa made the no objection certificate mandatory for the housing schemes before advertising anything related to private housing schemes. In a letter issued to different departments like the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi, cantonment boards, and Rawalpindi District Council, the DG told that the approval of the RDA must be checked before allowing any type of publicity to the private housing schemes.
The DG RDA said that the mushrooming growth of the private housing schemes is a matter of concern for the RDA. This growth, he said, causes sub-division of land throughout the Rawalpindi district. RDA can accord permission to private housing societies in light of the directions of the Punjab Housing Department under the Punjab Development Authority Land-Use (Classification, Reclassification, and Redevelopment Rules, 2021).
It has been observed the developers of the mushrooming private housing societies in the jurisdiction of the RDA advertise their schemes without proper approval by the RDA. The advertising materials include attracting people in the country and overseas Pakistanis. The housing schemes also propagate documentaries through social media. The DG said that the RDA has already taken up the matter with FIA so stern action could be taken against those involved in advertising illegal and unapproved private housing schemes.
