Mega Development Projects Of Baluchistan, PM Wants Speedy Progress

Prime Minister Imran Khan is highly concerned with the development of the whole country he has taken many good initiatives and started many Developmental projects all over the country like District Developmental Plans KPKRing Road Industrial Zone Projects Plans Punjab, Karachi Coast Line Projects Sindh, and now in Baluchistan, CM Balochistan has approved many Mega Development Projects In Baluchistan. On the other hand, PM chairing a high-level meeting on the working of development projects in Baluchistan expressed concern over the slow pace of development projects especially in the Southern districts of the province. The Premier instructed the concerned authorities to hold the meeting of the executive committee fortnightly to ensure a speedy realization of the 200 development projects worth Rs 655 billion. The PM said that he was shocked to hear that the apex committee headed by the chief minister had met only once during the last year.

The Prime Minister also directed the provincial government to bring about structural changes at the grassroots level to ensure speedy and in-time delivery of services to the masses. He also ordered the relevant quarters to immediately complete the construction of Turbut AirPort and ensure speedy completion of work on two nursing hospitals in Turbut and Gwadar. The premier said that due to the scattered population of the province we need to find an out-of-box solution to the issues of the largest province of the country. He continued that “issues of Balochistan are different from rest of the country as its population is scattered, and due to long distances we have to find out-the-box solutions to improve the lives of people of Balochistan.”

The Prime Minister particularly stressed the need for instant completion of the projects relating to transport, energy, and infrastructure under the southern Baluchistan development package. Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo Energy Minister Muhammad Hammad Azhar, Industries Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Maritime Affairs Minister Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, Planning Minister Asad Umar, and Finance Shaukat Tarin attended the meeting.

Earlier the Prime Minister was briefed on the opportunities available in Baluchistan for the economic development of Pakistan. He was also informed that 40% of the locally produced gas in the country is provided by the Baluchistan province. The PM was also informed of the strategic importance of Baluchistan and the need for federal ownership in the province. The premier ordered the concerned authorities to launch an effective media campaign to highlight the steps taken by the federal government for the welfare of the people of Baluchistan.
