ISLAMABAD: A significant Margalla Avenue Extension project at a cost of more than Rs.5.4 billion has received formal approval from the Capital Development Authority (CDA). Margalla Avenue will be extended from N-5 to M-1 as part of this project, which will have a substantial impact on the city's connections and infrastructure.

The CDA Development Working Group, which was led by CDA Chairman Captain (Retd) Noorul Amin Mengal, approved this initiative during one of its meetings. Details of the project state that 2.4 kilometres of land would be purchased for the extension. It should take eight months to complete the job.
The construction of an interchange along N-5 (GT Road) is also a part of the concept. The committee also got the go-ahead for a different Rs. 186 million project intended to expand CDA Capital Hospital by adding 15 beds, which is a substantial improvement to healthcare facilities.
