Lahore: According to stories that appeared in national newspapers on April 23, Punjab has unveiled a ground-breaking program named "Apni Chhat Apna Ghar" under the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. To provide 100,000 flats to citizens in six of the province's largest cities, this project will significantly advance Punjab's housing market.

The scheme's main objective is to provide inexpensive, ecologically compatible homes for families earning less than PKR 60,000, with a focus on those who don't currently own a home. The program's first beneficiaries will be the cities of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, and Sargodha. Under this program, 3,000 dwellings would be constructed in each of Punjab's districts.
Notably, the proposal calls for building 3,000 apartments on Lahore's Raiwind Road. The cost of each flat is expected to be PKR 1.5 million, with a 60% subsidy from the Punjab government. Only 40% of the entire cost will need to be paid by families over the course of five years in instalments. The rules and regulations pertaining to the scheme will be finalized by the Social Protection Authority.
