The civic agency is working round the clock to complete five major development projects before the current government's constitutional term expires. According to a government representative, "The civic agency has received clear instructions from the federal government to complete these multi-billion projects in the upcoming few weeks. PM Shahbaz Sharif wants their inauguration before the completion of his tenure. He has closely followed these projects and got a monthly report on their progress. The IJP Road, Margalla Avenue, 10th Avenue, and the development of the Islamabad Motorway are among the ongoing massive projects that are almost finalized.

Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, officially opened the Bhara Kahu Bypass project in October 2022. The 10.4-kilometer-long Margallah Avenue road, which runs from GT Road to D-12, is being built at a cost of Rs 2 billion. The IJP is also being updated and expanded. Additionally, ongoing work is being done on the Islamabad Expressway expansion from Koral to T-Chowk on GT Road.
The projects were launched with ambitious completion dates, but the civic agency encountered several difficulties that prevented it from finishing them by the allotted time. The rapid changeover of two of the civic body's chairs hampered the development of these projects. The officials of the civic agency believe that the completion of these mega projects would help a great deal to regulate the flow of traffic in the capital city.
