ISLAMABAD: According to a story by Geo News on Saturday, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced increased levies on Islamabad real estate buildings. A statement from the CDA states that owners of 140 square-yard plots in housing societies and sectors like Shehzad Town, Margala Town, and Rawal Town have to pay a tax of Rs 24,000.

In the meantime, owners of farmhouses spanning eight kanals are subject to property taxes of up to Rs180,000, while owners of farmhouses in Islamabad with 90 to 120 kanals are subject to property taxes of up to Rs442,000.
The CDA announced in its tax announcement that the ground floor of commercial premises in the blue area will be taxed at a rate of Rs. 32 per square foot, the basement at Rs. 22 per square foot, and residential units at Rs. 26 per square foot.
Additionally, the notice said that the property tax will be charged at the following rates: Rs. 22 per square foot for private hospitals; Rs. 180 per square yard for gas stations and CNG stations; and Rs. 13 per square foot for marriage halls and marquees.
