Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is mulling over the dualization of Pir Sohawa Road linking the scenic Margalla Hills National Park and the federal capital with the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province along with an alternate route to the Bari Imam area to cope with growing vehicular traffic.

Chairman, CDA Captain (r) Noorul Amin Mengal on Wednesday informed the National Assembly Standing Committee on Climate Change and Environmental Coordination meeting chaired by MNA Nuzhat Pathan that the rising traffic and congestion on Pir Sohawa Road on various occasions had become a nuisance and traffic congestion was posing a serious risk to nature and wildlife as heavy fumes of vehicular emissions were casting detrimental impacts on nature.
He mentioned that the civic body was also working on PC-1, which called for creating a reception and information facility along Pir Sohawa Road in the national park. "To lessen traffic and spread out vehicle emissions, we recommend an alternative route from Monal to Bari Imam. Surveys are being conducted to dualize the way and locate another route, he noted.
The CDA had notified the IWMB that all of the municipal organization's resources were available to the IWMB, for the first time in the previous 70 years, for the fencing of the national park.
The F-9, is one of the biggest public parks, According to him, initiatives are being made to install recharge wells for rainwater collection in that area to manage water for the plantation. He said, "We have appointed a specialist to address local nullahs pollution and have released tenders for Rs20 billion for road construction in rural regions.
