LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday ordered the mapping of tourist destinations around Punjab and sought a detailed "Punjab Tourism Plan" in seven days. Additionally, the CM gave the order to map the locations that are open to religious tourists. A high-level meeting was presided over by Maryam Nawaz, during which the Secretary of Tourism provided a briefing on tourism, including religious tourism.

Following the discussion, it was decided to celebrate the Baisakhi festival in Punjab, and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz gave her permission. The chief minister emphasised that Punjab will become a tourism hotspot once the mission is completed. She gave instructions to simulate both a short- and long-term tourism development plan for the province. The Sikh community as well as new religious adherents coming to Punjab will get a special tourist package.
Maryam Nawaz instructed to carry out a thorough planning process to offer international-level amenities to every tourist visiting Punjab. She also added that the government's primary duty is to ensure that every visitor is completely safe.

The CM ordered the identification of Sikh pilgrims' sacred sites and the creation of a comprehensive development plan. Ramesh Singh Arora, the provincial minister for minority affairs, informed the chief minister of the greetings from the Sikh community throughout the world upon her appointment to the position.
