According to news reports, Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the site of the Gujranwala-link project connected to the Lahore-Sialkot motorway on July 31 to review the ongoing construction work. Mohsin Naqvi, the chief minister of Punjab, gave instructions to the authorities to speed up construction while maintaining high quality during his visit. He underlined the need for additional resources to help finish the project before the deadline.

The CM was informed that problems preventing the project's early development had been peacefully overcome. With all available resources being used to complete it in 90 days, the 15.2-kilometre dual-carpeted road is expected to provide effective access to the motorway.
In his interviews with the media, CM Naqvi gave the assurance that the project would be finished on schedule despite all challenges posed by this wet season. In addition to the road project, CM Naqvi addressed the lack of human resources in hospitals and announced the start of a shuttle service between two hospitals in Gujranwala, promising that it will be remedied shortly.
