Islamabad: According to news reports, the Green Line Passenger Train would resume its operations from Islamabad to Karachi on January 27. This was said by Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Friday, January 20.
Through his official Twitter account, Minister Rafique made the statement and stated that the department is prepared to restart the Green Line Passenger Train operations from Islamabad to Karachi with improved service features. He expressed the hope that the Green Line Train service will significantly improve the service to the customers and bring in much-needed revenue for the railway division.

To accommodate passengers, the Green line train has two air-conditioned parlors, five business-class AC bogies, six regular AC bogies, and four to five economy-class coaches. It was emphasized that Minister Rafique had directed a reduction in the new Green Line train service's trip duration to less than 20 hours. The minister has also directed the Railway administration to ensure the provision of quality food for the passengers keeping in view that the ticket prices are affordable.
