Islamabad: According to news reports from December 3, the National Highway Authority (NHA) and the contractor M/s Techno-CMC-ACC consortium has signed a concession agreement for PKR 307 billion for the construction of the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway Project (M-6).

The federal government will contribute PKR 9.5 billion over the course of construction, and the remaining PKR 297.5 billion will be arranged by the private party through commercial debt and equity. According to the transaction structure approved by the Public Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) Board, it was stated that the third party will give the NHA at least PKR 408 billion and an estimated PKR 908 billion in business taxes
Additionally, at the conclusion of the concession period, the project will be given to the NHA free of charge. The Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway Project, according to the news source, is the largest PPP project. 306-km-long, six-lane wide, divided fence between Hyderabad and Sukkur. This approval is subject to fulfillment of all codal formalities and legislation in this regard from the national assembly.
