Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif officially opened the prefabricated housing units for the flood victims in Tank and Dera Ismail Khan. The residential apartments' keys were given to flood victims by Shehbaz. He expressed happiness that the two-room, kitchenette, and bathroom accommodations will bring assistance to the displaced people. Shehbaz had declared earlier that homes would be built for those displaced by the floods in Tank and Dera Ismail Khan. Menzies Aviation and former special assistant to the prime minister on aviation Capt Shujaat Azeem undertook the Rs140 million project as a charitable act.

The prime minister said that the recent floods caused significant damage to almost 2 million homes, infrastructure, and roadways when speaking at the opening event. Nevertheless, he expressed satisfaction that the federal, provincial, and commercial sectors made every effort to help the affected people. In the flood-affected areas, he praised the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the provincial disaster management agencies for providing assistance and rehabilitation. He said that Rs70 billion had been distributed to flood victims by the federal government.
The prime minister urged the wealthy to "adopt" the flood-affected people of Balochistan and Sindh by providing them with the infrastructure equipped with the necessary facilities. In September, Shehbaz announced the construction of residential units for the flood-affected people of Tank and Dera Ismail Khan. Menzies Aviation and former special assistant to the prime minister on aviation Capt Shujaat Azeem who are the pioneers of the project also addressed the gathering.
