Lahore: According to news reported in the top daily on Sep. 2, the Punjab government has implemented a monthly house tax of PKR 695 per household in 16 tehsils to solve concerns with water supply, sanitation, and waste management. The tax, according to the specifics, will be levied on residents of 16 tehsils, including Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Chakwal, Pakpattan, Chiniot, Jhang, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh, and Multan. Around 2,000 communities in Punjab will be required to pay the monthly housing tax, it was claimed.

Additionally, the caretaker administration has given municipal firm control over waste management and water delivery in order to provide the inhabitants with effective services. Because of this relationship, tax collection is an essential component of the funding system for these activities.
People have, however, expressed concern about the possible financial strain that this tax may place on homes that are already struggling financially. In response, the administration reiterates its dedication to allocating this money in a transparent manner in order to improve the standard of living for citizens in the tehsils.
