Rawalpindi: A major operation against illegal housing societies, criminals hiding there, firearms, and their private guards who are reportedly engaged in criminal activity was jointly initiated on Saturday by the district administration, local police, and Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA). RDA Director General Saif Anwar Jappa told Dawn that Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha had established a task team to take action against unlawful housing societies, those that carried illegal weapons, and those that hired guards without the consent of local police.

The task force's head, Mr Liaquat Jappa, said that the special branch had informed Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatha that the owners of private housing societies had hired guards, possessed illegal weapons, engaged in criminal activity, and built bunkers.
These unlawful home developments, which include Abdullah City, Avalon City, Blue World City, and Al-Imran Homes, are located on Chakri Road in Rawalpindi. They destroyed the unlawful housing plans' main gates, bunkers, advertising banners, dividers, billboards, and road infrastructure. According to the RDA DG, the action was taken owing to concerns from the general public.
To buy and sell solely from approved housing complexes, he suggested the public visit the website www.rda.gop.pk.The proprietors of the four illegal housing plans described above were previously served with notices, and FIRs were filed to prevent illegal development, bookings, and advertisements, according to the authorities. The proprietors of these houses were operating illegal housing schemes' booking offices in contravention of the law.
