RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Construction Authority (RDA) has recently filed its First Information Reports (FIRs) against five housing societies to stop the marketing and construction of unauthorised housing developments. It was discovered that these projects offered plots for sale without obtaining the required Non-Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the RDA.
The projects in question are Cargo Village close to the new Islamabad International Airport in Mouza Katarian, Theme Park View on the Chontra to Chak Beli Khan Link road in Mouza Sukho, and Khan Builders in Mouza Chahan. They are Heaven Dave in Mouza Misriot, Al-Imran Homes on Chakri Road in Mouza Sihal, and Khan Builders in Mouza Chahan.
The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) directorate is already seeking legal remedies against the unlawful advertising and marketing of these programmes, according to a representative for the RDA. He added that notices were properly served on these schemes before the filing of FIRs.The RDA has warned the public to stay away from such initiatives that don't have legitimate NOCs. The RDA has clarified that any marketing, advertising, or development attempts under its authority that don't have the required NOC are prohibited.
