Lahore: Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) has once again reiterated all the housing societies and illegal constructions in the area of the RUDA would be demolished. It further added that no construction in the area nor any encroachment is allowed as per government order and RUDA Act. The RUDA spokesman told that as many as 8000 kanals of land belonging to RUDA has already been encroached on by Park View City and has been sold to the general public.

The spokesperson further added, “In this connection, a warning had already been issued for the consumption of the buyers by the concerned departments. Moreover, notices were also issued to PEMRA and related agencies for banning the advertisement of Park View and it's alike”. He said that for the general public the government has been publishing notices in the print media. The spokesman said unauthorized construction would be demolished after due diligence and adopting the legal course.
It is pertinent to mention here that Span over an area of 46 KM, the Project worth around 7 billion USD comprised of commercial area, schooling, and health was meant for supporting urbanization in the Provincial metropolis. The government of Punjab is of the view that developing a new city in Lahore with all basic amenities will not only accommodate the ever-increasing population in the city by reducing pressure on Lahore but also help in the management and revival of the River Ravi. The government also believes that this mega project would gear up economic activities in the province.
