Lahore: Pakistan’s Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) previously has directed the Punjab Govt. to impose a Strict Ban on the Illegal Housing Schemes and now in progress journey they have reached an agreement with Mastercard to achieve a well-planned partnership to transform the community into a cashless economic zone where Mastercard, the American Financial services provider, will digitize the community. Mastercard, by enabling the citizens, Businessmen, and authorities to connect through digital channels and make their transactions through cashless services by deploying smart city solutions would facilitate the RUDA in materializing its dream of making the community a well-managed and well-planned area of sustainable economic growth.
As per the RUDA And Mastercard's Recent Agreement, From fee collection administrative services, all payments would be made through automated portals. Speaking about the understanding, Mastercard Divisional President for the Middle East and North Africa, Khalid Algibali said, “As Pakistan embraces the power of digital payments, Mastercard is committed to driving digital transformation in the country through our strategic public-private-partnerships. We are working with the government across various sectors to digitize the nation’s economic infrastructure and offer citizens and communities a seamless smart city experience. The collaboration with RUDA is a milestone moment in this journey as we look to power a fully cashless community that offers convenience, simplicity, and security.”
The residents of the community, it is informed would also be able to pay their utility services through these portals. Mr. Aljibali further added, “Mastercard has a stellar track record of powering cashless communities in several economic hubs around the world. We value the expertise that they will bring as we look to power RUDA with the flexibility and safety of smart economic solutions. The collaboration is a testament to Pakistan’s progress as a developing digital hub in the Middle East and North Africa region.” Mastercard is already working in Pakistan on the cashless financial services in the country like partnering with a special technology zone for cash-free services.
