Thousands Of Acres Land Retrieved In Punjab From Illegal Occupants

LAHORE: The Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has once again expressed his resolve to eliminate the evil of Land Grabbing In Punjab. He stated that over the past three years the Anti-Corruption Establishment has retrieved around 70 thousand acres of land worth Rs.198699 million from the land mafias 198699. The state writ, the CM said, was ensured by the administration by reclaiming land from the illegal occupants.

He said the govt is ready to go for everything to eliminate the menace of land grabbing. The retrieved land, he said would be utilized for the projects of public welfare. “The retrieved lands will be utilized for public welfare purposes, and an indiscriminate crackdown on land grabbers will continue as the government will go to every extent to eliminate land mafia from the province,”

The Anti-corruption Establishment reclaimed 10141 Kanal land in Gujranwala that is worth around Rs 11880 million, 5610 Kanal worth 21217 million in the Rawalpindi region, 135896 Kanal in Faisalabad region, and 52884 Kanal in Sargodha region. In the same way, thousands of acres of land were recovered in Multan and Sahiwal region. Around 176594 Kanal was recovered from the DG Khan region that is worth around Rs 2000 million. Likewise, thousands of Kanal of land were reclaimed by the provincial agencies in Lahore and Bahawalpur.

Land Grabbing, illegal occupations, popularly known as Qabza Mafia has been actively grabbing state-owned properties, especially over the past few decades. The present government right after coming into power has been determined to root out corruption from the country. The visionary leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan has followed a zero-tolerance policy throughout the country for those involved in illegal acts like corruption, Lang grabbing, and illegal constructions like Nasla Tower and premium heights. PM also has started the Land Digitalization Project for this purpose. The retrieval of millions of acres of land worth billions of rupees only through the above said means in Punjab province is a citation of the vision and determination of the government.
