Islamabad: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Aamir Ali Ahmed on Thursday visited the Sights of the & 7th Avenue Interchange and Rawal Dam Project. He directed the officials of the engineering wing to complete the Rawal Dam Chowk project by September by all means. He was accompanied by the staff and concerned officials of the two projects. The chairman was informed that the 7th avenue project would be complete by August this year. The completion of these two projects would be a sigh of relief for the daily commuters who suffer a lot, especially during peak hours.

The Rawal Dam Flyover Project was initiated in 2019 at a cost of Rs 1150 million and was to be completed by the end of 2021 within a period of two years. But due to some issue or the other, the execution of the project faced many obstacles. Earlier last month Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited the Sights of the Rawal Dam Chowk project and expressed displeasure over the inordinate delay in the execution of the project. The PM had also ordered an inquiry into the matter so that the responsible persons should be taken to task. The CDA is currently proceeding with the inquiry.

The chairman of CDA was also informed that the slip road on the main Park road would be opened for traffic on Monday which would significantly ease the flow of traffic. The engineering wing of the CDA continued that the culvert part of the project would be completed in the next 15 days. A dancing fountain at the roundabout of Kashmir Chowk near Jinnah Convention Center is also being designed. During the visit to the 7th Avenue Project, the chairman of CDA was told that the 7th Avenue would be completed in September, a month earlier than the completion date in October. there would be four left and right loops and there would also be an underpass to connect both the sides of Khayaban-e-Soharwardi.
