Islamabad: According to a news source on February 29, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started a PKR 2 billion project to reforest Margalla Hills to conserve the environment and practise sustainable land management. According to the details, the programme aims to plant 10 million trees in the park, highlighting the significance of protecting natural resources and improving ecological balance. The Margalla Hills National Park in Islamabad, which covers 908 square kilometres, is confronted with issues including invasive species and dwindling greenery.

Over five years, the project intends to enrich the flora and wildlife. The CDA seeks to address issues while advancing tourism and climate resilience through the restoration of native species and the implementation of strategies such as the construction of check dams and water ponds.
The PC-1, which significant stakeholders signed, demonstrates the region's shared commitment to sustainable development and environmental care, which is highlighted by the project.
