CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Visits the Site of Dadocha Dam in Rwp

Rawalpindi: According to the latest updates Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited the Dadocha Dam site on her first visit to the city to assess the status of construction work. 

The information states that representatives of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) gave updates on the project's progress and mentioned that the dam's construction had resumed in November 2023. By the court's order to reevaluate the land's worth, work is currently being done to finish the updated PC-1 and start the process of releasing water to the spillway.

Notably, the dam, which is located 25 km from Rawalpindi, completed acquiring 16,194 kanals and 14 marlas of land from the Rawalpindi and Kalar Syedan areas. According to CM Maryam's instructions, the Dadocha Dam, which has a catchment area of 129 square miles, a height of 123 feet, and a length of 737 feet, should be completed by November 2025.

 Physical improvement is at 12% while financial progress is at 40%. CM Maryam emphasised the significance of accelerating work by distributing more labour and equipment among various areas of the site. Owing to Pakistan's impending problems with water scarcity, she emphasised the need to save rainwater by building more dams.
