Mansehra: Director General of Tourist Services said on Monday that the government is spending around 16 billion for the promotion of tourism-related activities in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Speaking over the inaugural ceremony of the Dream Valley Tours he said that the KP Province has a great potential for the promotion of tourism. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the dream valley tours, Director General of Directorate of Tourist Services Ghulam Saeed said KP had great potential for tourism promotion. He said that the promotion of tourism in the province would not only provide recreational facilities to the masses but would also be a vital source of revenue generation and employment.

The DG said,“The KP government has been spending to the tune of Rs16 billion annually on the promotion of the tourism industry and time is not far off when this industry could contribute up to 40 percent to the GDP.” He also informed that the government has recently launched another integrated tourism project. He added, “This project is promoting tourism and working to preserve the natural essence and ecology in the province,”. He informed that the Kaghan Development Authority is also working on a comprehensive strategy to promote tourism as a full-fledged industry in the province. Mer Saeed said, “The Kaghan valley and Malakand division are two major destinations that could attract foreign investments so the government is working on the public-private partnership to take the hospitality industry to the international standards,”.

The Official further highlighter that Kaghan Valley and Malakand Division are the two major destinations that can earn the government a huge revenue from national and international tourism. He said, “The Kaghan valley and Malakand division are two major destinations that could attract foreign investments so the government is working on the public-private partnership to take the hospitality industry to the international standards”. He said in this regard the government is also providing required training to the officials and others affiliated with the tourism industry. He continued to inform, “We have also been working to preserve the soothing environment of Kaghan valley and Lake Saiful Muluk and road projects in the valley are being completed “.
It is relevant to mention that over the past few years, the government of KP has been working round the clock to promote tourism in the KP. The govt is setting up dozens of Special Integrated Economic Zones In the country. These economic zones are being provided with the basic facilities upon international lines with the belief that they would attract tourism and investment from local as well as from international levels. The development of infrastructure includes roads, water supply, pathways, solid waste management, electricity supply, and infrastructure development. The promotion of tourism as a full-fledged industry on the modern lines will also play an important role in the economic uplift of the country besides creating thousands of jobs.
