KMC Declares More than 200 Buildings in Karachi Substandard

Based on the information provided, the buildings located on I.I. Chundrigar Road, Khalid Bin Waleed Road, and Sharea Faisal were constructed without adequate planning, which included the inclusion of fire suppression systems, emergency exits, and other required fixtures.

Without consulting the KMC, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) cleared these buildings and issued completion certificates and No Objection Certificates (NOCs) without carrying out the necessary inspections. The urgent need for action against illegal buildings and those providing NOCs is emphasised in the study.
