Peshawar: The KP government has constituted a committee to overcome weaknesses in the Dir Motorway Feasibility process for the 30 KM long Dir Motorway. The initial survey regarding the entire length of the Motorway has already been completed. The decision was taken in a high-level meeting held under CM Mahmood Ahmed Khan. The panel discussed the mega road projects in the province. The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Planning and Development Shah Mahmood, the secretary Communications and Works Department, and officials of Pakhtunkhwa Highways authority.

As per details, there was a detailed discussion about the progress of the Dir Motorway, Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway, Swat Motorway Phase 2, Madyan Bypass, Bahrain Bypass, and some other projects in the province. About the Dir Motorway, it was told the total length of the project is 30 KM. The four-lane motorway would also have two tunnels. The CM Mahmood Ahmed Khan speaking on the occasion said that the government would ensure that all the projects be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

It is relevant to mention here that the KP Government is undertaking some mega road projects which would connect all the province's districts. This would not only provide quality transportation to the people of the province but also boost economic and business activities. These mega projects include a six-lane 365 KM Peshawar-DI Khan Motorway that would also have 19 interchanges. The CM also warned the concerned authorities that no delay in the completion of these projects would be tolerated.
