The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has been given permission by the Lahore High Court to carry out its operations in accordance with the Master Plan 2016. This decision was taken after a petition was submitted protesting the Lahore Master Plan 2050's approval, which was then blocked by an injunction. LDA's attorney said during the hearing that they were in favor of having foreign experts revise the master plan.

But, in accordance with the regulations, the LDA's governing body, which consists of members of the Punjab Assembly, must approve the hiring of foreign experts. The court granted the petitioner's plea to halt the Master Plan 2050's execution, Mian Abdul Rahman, and extended the injunction while ordering LDA to consult with international experts.
Regarding Lahore's future development plans, the Lahore High Court's judgment brings some clarification. Also, because the injunction on Master Plan 2050 has been prolonged, the LDA will have to postpone any development activity until after the plan has been reviewed by international experts.
