Rawalpindi: The commuters of the twin cities have continued to face severe problems while traveling to their destinations as the road blockades continue to persist on various important points of Murree Road and other major arteries of the city. The situation in the city has been further aggravated when the police remain silent about the situation. The situation has forced the commuters to wander in the streets and service roads to look for alternative routes as the main routes have been blocked by the protesters by setting up their camps right in the middle of the main Murree Road. The suspension of the Metro Bus Service as well as local transport further added to the miseries of the people.

As per details, the main Murree Road was blocked by the protestors from Rehmanabad to Faizabad due to the ongoing protests by the PTI supporters. The PTI supporters also continued protests at three main places namely Old Airport Road, Murree Road, and Pirwadhai Mor. Their protests have badly affected the traffic flow in the city. They burnt tires to block the roads. Punjab police, on the other hand, have left the public at the mercy of the handful bands of protesters.
The blockade of roads has created severe problems for the students, patients, and businessmen of the twin cities. Several ambulances also got stuck in traffic jams while they were transporting serious patients to the hospitals. Talking to the media the local population has expressed their displeasure over the role of the local administration in failing to provide protection to the masses.
