The FGEHA Director General told the committee during a meeting that four projects that were started in 2020 were going to be delayed because of a large increase in material costs. Work had to be stopped even though Chaklala Heights Apartments had a 34% booking. The DG made it clear that current prices would be used to award new contracts.
Senator Afnanullah Khan raised questions about the project's delayed start, pointing out that the committee had previously received guarantees on its quick starting. The committee chairman instructed FGEHA representatives to confer with Senators Saifullah and Fida Muhammad in order to rapidly handle the complexities of the situation, with a total investment of PKR 258 million to date. The discussion placed a strong emphasis on the necessity of responsibility, efficiency, and transparency in order to guarantee the prompt completion of government housing projects.
