Islamabad: Chairman CDA Aamir Ali Ahmed on Wednesday visited the site of the
7 th Avenue Project and reviewed the pace of construction activities on the project.
The chairman was told that the project has entered the final stages of completion
and would be opened for traffic by the end of the ongoing month. The chairman
was told that in a few days the underpass constructed in Khayaban-e- Sohrwardi
would be completed and the overall project would be completed in a record time
two months earlier than the schedule. The Rs 1.5 billion 7th Avenue Project was
launched in August last year at the junction of 7th avenue, Srinagar Highway,
Khayaban-e-Soharwardi, and Garden Avenue near Abpara.

Earlier in a briefing, the member engineering of the civic body had told the
newsman that the contract was awarded to National Logistic Cell (NLC) has
expedited the work on the project which will be completed in September this
year. He said that the work is progressing at a rapid pace in a view to minimizing
the woes and worries of the public. But now the CDA officials informed us that
the project would be completed by the end of the current month. The project
includes four left and right loops and there would also be an underpass to
connect both sides of Khayaban-e-Soharwardi. The CDA had decided to award the
contract of the project to either FWO or NCL so that the timely completion of the
project could be ensured. NLC being the lowest bidder was awarded the contract.

It is relevant to mention here that the incumbent administration of the CDA Is
working round the clock to minimize the sufferings of the residents of the capital
city under the visionary leadership of its incumbent Chairman. The civic body is
all set to provide maximum relief to the masses with all basic amenities at their
doorstep. Their efforts have started bearing fruits and many a development
project is in the final stages of its completion. The work on the Rawal Dam
Project, Expansion work on Islamabad Expressway, PWD interchange, I.J Principal
Road, 10 th avenue project, Bhara Kahu Underpass, and development of long-
awaited stalled sectors are among many other projects of public interest. The
civic agency is also doing its best to develop new parks and public places and
