CM KP Convoked All Development Projects in the Province

Peshawar: CM KP Mahmood Ahmed Khan while chairing a meeting on Tuesday to review progress on Mega Development Projects in various sectors in the province has expressed displeasure over the delay in the execution of the Developmental projects in the province. He especially took notice of the delayed work on the upgradation of Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium and ordered the immediate suspension of the concerned Executive Engineer and Sub Divisional Officer and conduct an inquiry against them. He also issued directives to take action against the concerned contractor, and relevant officials of the Sports Department in line with the report of the Monitoring and Evaluation Department. The CM also expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in the implementation of the Peshawar Safe City Project.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Administrative Secretaries of concerned departments, and other relevant officials attended the meeting. During the meeting, it was informed to the CM that the work order for Patrak – Thall – Kumrat Road Project would also be issued within the next one and half months. It was informed that the establishment of Taimergarah Medical College had been completed and that the classes would also be commenced in the upcoming academic year. Besides, under the project revamping of non-teaching DHQ Hospitals, procurement of equipment for the hospitals had been completed partially whereas outsourcing of various non-clinical services of these hospitals had also been completed.

The CM directed the authorities concerned to speed up work on development schemes in the province. The CM KP directed the concerned authorities to immediately start physical work on Swat Motorway Phase-II Project. He also ordered the Secretary of Communication & Works to personally visit the ongoing road construction projects in District Dir and submit him a detailed report in this regard. He said that the Peshawar D.I Khan Motorway Project is vital for the development and progress of southern districts. The CM also directed the secretaries to ensure that all the development projects should be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
