Green Line and Blue Line Bus Projects Visited by CDA Chairman

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Aamir Ali Ahmed on Thursday visited the Bus Stations of the Green Line Bus Service and the Blue Line Bus Services being launched in the Federal Capital. While visiting the PIMS Bus Station, Koral Bus Station, and Bhara Kahu Bus Station, the chairman of CDA directed the officials concerned to speed up the construction activities on the two bus projects. The blue line service will operate from Korang Bridge Expressway to Faizabad metro bus station whereas the green line will be operating from Bhara Kahu to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) Bus Stand. At PIMS Station the Bus Service will merge with the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service.

As per directives of the PM Shahbaz Sharif, the two bus services will be liked to Rawalpindi Islamabad Metro Bus and the orange line project from Peshawar Mor to New Islamabad International Airport, the chairman of CDA was informed by the officials that the work on Bhara Kahu Station would be completed by the next month and the construction work on the PIMS Station and Koral Station has also been started on an urgent basis. Speaking on the occasion the chairman of CDA said that the people of the twin cities would enjoy much better transportation facilities with the completion of the two projects. During the meeting, the CDA informed the participants that both the services would start operation in the next 45-days on existing roads in mixed traffic.

Earlier on June 8 this month in a meeting of the CDA chaired by the chairman it was decided that the two bus services would start plying in the next 45 days and that the work on the construction of the stations would be completed in a three-month time. It was revealed in the meeting that out of a total of 30 buses 25 have reached Islamabad from China and the remaining five are packed in Karachi. The CDA officials also told that the FWO has been engaged to construct the bus Station which would be completed in three months' time. It was also discussed in the meeting that a fair of Rs 50 should be charged for Green line and Blue line service and Rs 50 was recommended from Peshawar Mor to GT Road and Rs 100 from GT Road to Airport.
